Default Cod Season

Just want to wish every one a Healthy and Happy New Year! The cod fish season is upon us. I'm hoping to do as well or even better than last season. Good luck to all this upcoming season! Tight Lines!

I'm not sure about Delaware Cod. I would say, the same as Jersey Feb-May.

Due to the unusual weather in NJ no one is really targeting them offshore yet, the waters are apparently still warm and loaded with Sea Bass and Jumbo Porgies. The idiots that monitor our waters closed the season!!!!

Whatever,

Go to the Home Page and click on "Cod" in the Popular Tags box. There are a couple of reports focused (on the first two pages) on Delaware and you may find what you're looking for there.

Cod - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

According to Wikipedia:

"Spawning occurs between January and April (March and April are the peak months), at a depth of 200 metres (660 ft) in specific spawning grounds at water temperatures between 4 and 6 °C (39 and 43 °F)."

The reference gives you a general idea. I would add in +/- a couple of additional degrees on both the top and bottom of the range based upon the season.
